I'm so excited to finally announce my crochet/ knitting giveaway that I've been working on for ages and ages. I wanted to give away things that I'd personally made because I wanted each component to be unique - and that really reflects how I feel about each individual one of you who reads my blog. You guys are the reason I'm motivated to keep blogging, and that's why I wanted to do this personal giveaway. Having said that, it was so frustrating having to start again over and over because working without a pattern meant dealing with misshapen heads, skewed legs or wonky ears, but seeing the end result is so satisfying and I'm proud as punch.

Wearing: Tokito pink blouse, lilac ASOS pintuck blouse, Chioe coat, Temt ruffled skirt, H&M metal bow

Currently loving:
~ Addictively playing a new song over and over
~ Velvet leggings, canary yellow pants
~ Whitney Eve collection
~ Perfecting fishtail braids
~ Days where the air is chill but the sun is shining
~ When people compliment my perfume but I secretly know it's actually my fabric softener
~ Peppermint tea that cures the 3.30pm sleepiness

Disliking:
~ My favourite song coming on the radio just as I'm about to get home
~ The great debate over whether leggings can be worn as pants
~ The trade-off between waiting for something to go on sale vs missing out if it goes out of stock before then
~ Trying so hard on a new hairdo because the tumblr picture looked effortlessly chic but mine turns out looking like a birds nest
~ Days where it's too hot in the sun but too cold under the shade
~ Clothes that bleed colour onto my white tops
~ Not getting what I wanted to get done during the day

.. and on that note, it's off to study I go! Good luck to everyone who is also struggling through this stressful exam period. I'm seriously considering running down to the supermarket and coming back with a tub of icecream because I've been dreaming about and dying to try the Weis Pineapple and Tahitian Lime sorbet. How enticing does it sound.

Assorted embellishments arriving in the mail- DIYs coming soon

With exams just around the corner, I've settled comfortably into my familiar routine of study one lecture, eat one block of chocolate, revise one tutorial, eat one can of Pringles. Do one practise question.. spend too long 'rewarding' myself browsing the  internet.
Bill Of Exchange
An old man was on his death bed. He wanted badly to take all his money with him. He called his priest, his doctor and his lawyer to his bedside. "Here's $30,000 cash to be held by each of you. I trust you to put this in my coffin when I die so I can take all my money with me."
At the funeral, each man put an envelope in the coffin. Riding away in a limousine, the priest suddenly broke into tears and confessed that he had only put $20,000 into the envelope because he needed $10,000 for a new baptistery. "Well, since we're confiding in each other," said the doctor, "I only put $10,000 in the envelope because we needed a new machine at the hospital which cost $20,000." The lawyer was aghast.
"I'm ashamed of both of you," he exclaimed. "I want it known that when I put my envelope in that coffin, it held my personal cheque for the full $30,000."
Professional "Courtesy"
A doctor and a lawyer were talking at a party. Their conversation was constantly interrupted by people describing their ailments and asking the doctor for free medical advice. After an hour of this, the exasperated doctor asked the lawyer, "What do you do to stop people from asking you for legal advice when you're out of the office?" "I give the advice to them," replied the lawyer, "and then I send them a bill."
The doctor was shocked, but agreed to give it a try. The next day, still feeling slightly guilty, the doctor prepared the bills. When he went to place them in his mailbox, he found a bill from the lawyer.

Say hello to mr crochet octopus. He's a mini, coin-sized, eight-legged critter that will soon be turned into a cute little ring. I don't want to get too attached and name him because he's going to be part of a giveaway that I've been planning for quite a while now. I thought it'd be fitting especially since I've reached 300 followers yay! ^_______^ I just have to knit one more goodie and we're ready to roll. So here's a big fat thank you to every single one of you out there who have ever read my blog- even if you've never commented, I can still feel the love. Yay mushy.

Anyway as you can see, he's not quite finished yet. He still has yarn coming out of his bum, and obviously there's no ring attached yet, but before I finish him I want to ask the big question:

Should I give him a mouth or no mouth?

Lemon Yellow and Sequin Berets

What I find most alluring about reading other people's blogs is the feeling of being drawn into their world. Whether it is looking up through a fish-eyed lens at Times Square, watching the bustling night markets of St Kilda, or seeing them enjoy the simple pleasures of eating ice cream and lollipops, I love the idea of being able to peep through a window into someone else's life. I almost feel like I'm sharing in a slice of their adventures.

And then I stop and think about what story my own blog is telling. To be honest, it's pretty sad. Going home from uni, we'll stop by a not-too-crowded suburban street, loiter in front someone's house with  a nice background setting and take a couple of snaps. Well not a couple, because it takes like ten shots to get one decent shot where I'm not blinking, have hair across my face, or just looking silly in general haha.

I bought this pair of lemon yellow jeans so I can wear them on days where the weather is glum and feel less depressed. Not sure if it's working, but then again maybe that's because the rest of my outfit is black anyway. Hm if only I had a pair of rainbow coloured gumboots!
